This website provides a variety of treatment activities that can be used in treatment that incorporated the horse.  The activities are organized based on the goals clients are working on in therapy. Click on the goals to the right to learn more about how horses can be used to improve function in that area and a list of activities that that can help the client master that goal.  

 

Each activity is documented on an EAT activity template.  By clicking on the activity you have chosen, you can download the template. Each activity template provides instructions and equipment needed to do the activity as well as what goals it can address.  Many of the activities can be used to work on more than one goal.  On the activity template are suggestions to set up the treatment environment arena and ways the client can be positioned to participate in the activity and make it best address their needs and goals.  The template also includes an analysis of the activity and suggestions on ways to grade the activity to fit the current abilities of the client and to increase the challenge as they progress. Therapists can download and print the activity templates to use in a treatment session and to share with other therapists.
